"With 21 years service to our bed and breakfast guests, we've made some friends along the way - come stay a while and the experience the welcome for yourself."
Maeve Fitzgerald - your host at Churchfield B&B.

Located in Doolin, a special part of Ireland, a traditional bustling town in the heart of the burren in county Clare and just 10 minutes from The Cliffs of Moher, and a short boat ride to the Aran Islands. Doolin is considered by many to be the home of traditional Irish music and with the famous pubs, McDermott's and McGann's just 2 minutes walk away and O'Connors a mere 10 minutes walk, you could not be closer to the action. Traditional Irish music can be heard nightly through the summer and at weekends during the winter in all the pubs.
The atmosphere is unique and before long you will be tapping feet and clapping hands as the music takes over. A visit to the emerald isle is not complete without a trip to the 700ft Cliffs of Moher. The cliffs, just 10 minutes drive from Churchfield B&B, stand as sentinels against the westerly winds and Atlantic ocean.

You can walk along the cliff top right from Liscannor to Doolin, the highest points being near the visitors centre. You will see puffins, fulmers and many other sea birds and wildlife. Across Galway Bay the mountains of Connemara rise to meet the sky for what is another glorious view. In the middle of the bay are the three Aran Islands to which you can catch a boat from Doolin.
All around as you look northwards from the Cliffs, you will see the Burren. This 100 or so square mile area comprises of limestone rock formations laid out like 'pavements'. This unique area gives life to many unusual flora and fauna including wild orchids more commonly found in European alpine regions.

Some other local facilities of Doolin include bicycle hire, horse riding, fishing and golfing. Come and enjoy the experience, with your bike, car or walking shoes your pace is your own.
